K-12 Classroom Blogs
Mr. Langhorst’s 8th grade American history class had a interesting blog website. There blog was made based on a book called Guerilla Season. The students were to discuss the book via internet. The student’s names were hid to the public to protect the students. The author of the book even got in on the discussion. It was very successful and he does it every year now with his class. I like this idea because students can do this assignment while they are at home and it still keeps them engaged in class discussion. If I end up in a higher grade level class this is wonderful idea use.

The Westlake blog had several teachers listed with blogs. The teachers use their blogs to let the children know what is going on. The students and teacher can write back and forth to each other. I like this because the teacher and students can keep in touch even when they are away from school. I liked that several of the teachers were involved in the blogging system. I think it is a great way of keeping the students informed and they are able to get in touch with you other than in person or by phone.

ACCESS
ACCESS is a great opportunity for students. I have never heard of it until today. I would use ACCESS in my classroom to get students involved with other students in a different county, state or even country. This lets my children get a better grip on the technology that we have gotten so accustomed to. They also have the chance to gain knowledge about others. ACCESS will also help with my advanced students. They will be given the chance to put their skills to use and this would keep them from getting bored in my class. They can also take up the opportunity to take more advanced online classes. ACCESS can help students to gain an advanced diploma. It also offers remediation and supplemental resources that I can use with my class. ACCESS is a great opportunity to ask of a high level of learning from my students. I feel it would be a great thing to have in the schools.
ALEX
ALEX is a great website it offers many helpful tools to make your educational career a successful one. ALEX has several lessons plans that I can use to during my first years of teaching and so on. It also so gives me a place where I can organize my online tools. ALEX is benefical to all teachers it shows all the standards that are required for the children to learn. The lessons plan ideas given match the standards. As a new teacher I will accessing ALEX quite often to get help. It is nice to have that help as a future teacher. I have used ALEX for another class this semester to help find a lesson plan. I found it easy to find what I was looking for. I look forward to using ALEX to suit my needs in the future.

First Post :)
Hey!! My name is Kendyll Patrizi. I am a future elementary teacher. I love family, friends, and horses. I have learned a great deal from my microcomputing class! I believe it is very benefical to me seeing as how I have got the chance to learn more about technology. I am not very good with computers and to know that my gradebook is now done on computers quite frankly worried me. I am still not a wiz but I am getting better. I have appreciated all the help from my wonderful teacher :) and fellow classmates have helped me through out the semester.
